Kia India has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming premium MPV, the Carens Clavis, scheduled for May 23, 2025. Positioned above the standard Carens, the Clavis is designed to offer enhanced features and a more luxurious experience, targeting competitors such as the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta.

Design and Features

The Carens Clavis showcases a refreshed design inspired by Kia’s global models. It features new triangular three-pod LED headlights, a connected LED tail light setup, and a bold front grille. The MPV will be available in eight monotone colour options, including Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, and Imperial Blue.

Inside, the Clavis offers a dual-tone navy and beige theme with options for 6- or 7-seat configurations. The dashboard is equipped with dual 12.3-inch screens, and other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 4-way powered driver’s seat. Safety is enhanced with six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Engine and Performance

The Carens Clavis will be offered with three engine options:

  • 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115 PS)
  • 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (160 PS)
  • 1.5-litre diesel (116 PS)

Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT for petrol variants, and a 6-speed automatic for the diesel variant.

Variants and Pricing

The Carens Clavis will be available in seven variants: HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX, and HTX Plus. Bookings commenced on May 9, 2025, with a token amount of ₹25,000. Prices are expected to start from ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be officially announced at the launch event.
