Draupadi Murmu is an Indian politician, the former cabinet minister of Odisha and the former governor of Jharkhand. Mrs. Murmu was born on 20 June 1958 in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. She is also at present the NDA candidate for presidential election 2022. She also had worked as an assistant teacher and a junior assistant in Odisha state irrigation department.
Being chosen as a candidate from the National Democratic Alliance for the 2022 Indian Presidential Election by BJP. She had served as the ninth Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021. Murmu was a presidential candidate for the National Democratic Alliance in the 2022 election, having won the election on July 21, 2022.
